Rob Hawkins started using spreadsheets in 1990 when colour monitors were a luxury and Microsoft Excel was available as version 3.0. After spending three years at university completing a computer -related business studies degree and using a variety of spreadsheets and database software, he became a freelance journalist and photographer in 1993. Two years later he started delivering computer training courses and continued his journalism , progressing into computer magazines and writing reviews and technical guides. The computer training develop into consultancy with several corporate projects using Excel.
